Bohr’s Atomic Model was introduced by Niels Bohr in 1915. It was basically a modified version of Rutherford’s Atomic Model wherein Bohr explained that electrons move in fixed orbitals (shells) and not anywhere in between and he also explained that each orbit (shell) has a fixed energy level.

Atoms are the basic units of chemical elements and were once believed to be the smallest indivisible structures of matter. Niel Bohr’s Atomic Theory states that – an atom is like a planetary model where electrons were situated in discretely energized orbits. The atom would radiate a photon when an excited electron would jump down from a higher orbit to a lower orbit. The difference between the energies of those orbits would be equal to the energy of the photon. This model was proposed in 1913 by Niels Bohr and was really an expansion on the Rutherford model of 1911. The Rutherford model had several flaws that the Bohr model overcame.
